Friday Things

This was one of the better weeks I've had in a long time.  I'm seeing good results with the sports chiro I've been going to (hm, maybe I should talk in more detail about that soon...) and I was able to have a long-ish (5.5 miles) run on Monday without any real pain!  Another thing that's going a bit better, without too much pain, is homework with the kindergartner; I'm hoping it's because he's realized that there's more time to play when he just gets it done and his agreeableness (is that a word? no spell check error...) is not just a fluke - because with kids, most parents know that they're like the weather: if you wait five minutes, things will change.  To top it off, I had a nice dinner with friends and margaritas last night.  And the week isn't even over yet - I've got a jam packed (for me) weekend on tap.  First up, we're going to see Yo Gabba Gabba! with both kids tomorrow.  I took my son last year, just the two of us and we had a BLAST.  I think I loved the show just as much as he did, maybe more?  I mean c'mon:

Yes, Biz Markie made an appearance at the Seattle show last year and I'm hoping he'll be back. My kids hardly ever watch Yo! anymore, but I think kids who've never seen the show would still be enthralled.  So fun.

And I've decided to go ahead and run the Hot Chocolate 15K on Sunday, since I had a good run on Monday and should be able to handle 3-4 more miles if I take it easy and maybe even... walk, gasp!  I've had a lot of fun being part of the Chocolate Ambassador team and, apparently, I've steered at least 300 folks (holy sh*t) towards signing up to run and get a free hat!  I'm thinking the least I can do is shuffle through it with y'all and eat some chocolate.  Plus, I have yummy post race brunch plans with a throng of fabulous Tweeps and there's at least one bloody mary with my name on it.  Maybe even two, since I have a ride - woo hoo!

OK, speaking of weekends (I know, major reach for a segue - but it's random, this 'Friday Things'), did everyone see this backstage interview with Jennifer Lawrence after the Oscars last weekend??  Probably, because we all LOVE HER.

And of course there's this:

Yeah, you probably already saw that, too.  OK, last one - who doesn't love a great family bear hug, especially from big brothers?

Big brothers are the best.

OK, moving on, here's the latest addition to the playlist which is not like my usual techno/club kid running fare.  I think it has a slight Vampire Weekend vibe, with a faster beat.
