This Weeks Eats 9.1.13

The Martha Stewart inspired one pot pasta dish from last week turned out rather good!  I was really worried about the liquid being absorbed and ending up with pasta soup.  Alas, I let it simmer for a little bit longer than the directions called for and it was perfect.  Playing around with ingredients could be easy and fun - adding spinach, a touch of cream, cooked chicken or sausage...  Now I'm getting hungry.  I shall distract myself with pictures from the weekend,

Zoo day!

 especially since I forgot to take a picture of the yummy pasta.  Ah well.

  • Monday - Pizza
  • Tuesday - Coconut Lime Chicken with Chiles (trying this one that Everyday Reading linked to on her blog, from Meal Planning 101)
  • Wednesday - Sausage and Spinach Risotto 
  • Thursday - Jalapeno Turkey Burgers (just add lots of spices like cumin, chili powder, and cayenne along with unseasoned breadcrumbs, chopped garlic, onion and jalapeno to ground turkey and grill) 
  • Friday - taking the kids out to celebrate finishing the first week of school!
  • Saturday - Seven Flavor Beef and Brown Rice
  • Sunday - Chopped salads with romaine, grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, red onion, blue cheese and champagne vinaigrette
