Friday Things

I was sitting down to write and got totally sidetracked because 50 First Dates was on.  Do you have those kind of movies, where you've seen it a million times but will stop to watch it - even if it's always on, or already halfway through, or if there are (gasp!) commercials to sit through?  I have this problem with any Adam Sandler movie, Overboard, Idiocracy, Sweet Home Alabama and any Fast and the Furious movies...

By the by, this is one of my favorite Youtube videos that I could also watch ad infinitum:

ANYWAY!  I'm so looking forward to tomorrow's trail race and I think it's primarily because I'm so not stressed about it.  It's the first race in a really long time that I'm going to on my own (oh, and I'm gonna make a WHOLE DAY out of being footloose and fancy free), and I have no basis for comparison since I've never run a trail race, nor a 5 mile race of any kind.  I'm debating whether to turn on my GPS at all.  Although, I would like to see the elevation chart...  We'll see.  In fact, I'm so relaxed about it, I forgot about doing my nails until just now!  Eeegads!  I think I have to go with Essie's Turquoise and Caicos since I finally found a lone one left at my local Target.

My husband is working from home today and has sent me with marching orders to the nearest Starbucks just now (it's been that kind of week in the world of child wrangling), so I leave you with a good read:  I always enjoy Thought Catalog and this is a great one I came across: 17 Things Running Teaches You About Life.

And, of course, my song selection for the week - a nice and embarrassing one.  It's just so darn catchy, and I guess Selena merits a spot on this year's playlist, just like she did last year with Hit The Lights...

Happy weekend!

  1. I hate to admit it, but I like that song for song odd reason. Can't figure it out. My 4 yr old daughter and I sing it every time it comes on the radio.
Have fun at your trail race. I've never done a trail race, and never a 5 mile race, so it sounds pretty interesting to me. Enjoy your "alone" time too!
