Friday Things and Running Playlist

I don't know when it happened, but sometime in the last decade of my life I became one of those people who cannot sleep in hotel rooms.  Travel was a huge part of my pre-kid life, and maybe it's because we've done so little of it since they came along that I'm just out of practice passing out in hotel beds.  But, man, I think I got about a total of 15 hours sleep in the three days I was home last weekend.  Not only does it take me hours to fall asleep in unfamiliar surroundings (that's a given), but on the flip side, I wake up suuuper early and unable to fall back asleep.  I had two freaking days where I could have slept in (a parent's dream) and I just couldn't manage to stay asleep.  Sigh.  So, this weekend?  We're doing a whole lotta nothing and I'm going to catch up on some much needed sleep!

Best tidbits on the internet this week, IMHO:

• Congrats to all the NYC Marathon finishers!  So many gals from the Oiselle team ran and I have to wonder if they were able to witness the awesomeness of these signs.  Eff yah! Mararthons! 
• I (obviously) don't buy Lululemon stuff anymore, and I've never bought their workout pants (just lounge-y ones).  It's probably a good thing, because my thighs might have been too much for them to handle during a run.  What a dirt bag Chip (Chip??) Wilson is.
• A wheelchair for dancing, and so much more.  Beautiful.
• Ingeniously defaced textbooks and exam papers.  Hilarious.
• TED Talks are awesome.  This is one of the best things I've seen on the internet: we all have our closet.  Fantastic.

The last two weeks I added songs with vocals by Hayley Williams and that got me to thinking about other badass chick voices.  I had to add my favorite song by Metric.  It's also on the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies of all time: Scott Pilgrim vs The World.  Highly recommend both.

And the movie version is hilarious to me, because of Todd's 'vegan superpowers.'  Really, if you haven't seen it, rectify that situation.
